December 01 , 2023
According to their application scenarios, purposes, and functional properties, car cameras mainly have the following types:

Rear View Camera: also known as the reverse image system, installed at the rear of the vehicle, is used to assist the driver in observing the situation behind while reversing, helping to avoid scratches or collisions with obstacles.

Front View Camera: Installed in the front of the vehicle, it is used to detect the road conditions ahead, such as recognizing vehicles, pedestrians, traffic signs, etc. It provides advanced driving assistance(ADAS) functions, such as front collision warning, pedestrian recognition, etc.

Blind Spot Monitoring Camera: Usually installed under the side mirrors or near the rearview mirrors of a vehicle, it is used to monitor the blind spot of the vehicle, provide warning or assist steering functions, and reduce the possibility of accidents when changing lanes.

Lane Departure Camera: Installed at the front of the vehicle, it is used to monitor the relative position of the vehicle and the lane. When the vehicle accidentally deviates from the current lane, it issues a warning to help the driver keep the vehicle on the correct lane.

Pre Collision Camera: also known as a collision warning camera, detects obstacles ahead through a camera and sensor system, and provides warnings or automatic emergency braking when potential collision threats are detected.

Camera of Dashcam: A dash camera is a camera device installed in the front or inside of a vehicle, used to record video and audio during driving. It usually has high-definition camera function and can continuously record the road conditions ahead of the vehicle. The Candid dash cam also has features such as loop recording, night vision, collision detection, and parking monitoring.

360 degree Surround View Camera: Installed in four directions of the vehicle, front, back, left, and right, it provides a 360 degree panoramic image of the vehicle's surroundings through the superposition and synthesis of multiple camera images, helping drivers better understand the vehicle's surrounding environment, especially when parking and driving slowly in compact spaces.

Driver Monitoring Camera: Installed inside the vehicle, used to monitor the driver's condition, including fatigue driving, distracted driving, etc., to provide driver behavior warnings and safety reminders.

OMS (Occupant Monitor System) camera: OMS camera is a camera device used to monitor passenger posture, status, and activity. It is usually installed inside the vehicle to ensure the safety of passengers' lives and property during driving.

These cameras are usually connected to the display screen or onboard information system on the vehicle, transmitting the images captured by the cameras to the driver to enhance driving assistance and safety performance. Different vehicles and models may be equipped with different types of camera combinations to provide a more comprehensive view and safety features.
